Just watched “Authors Anonymous” on Netflix.
Dennis Farina’s last screen performance steals the show, and then some.
The rest of it was diluted by too much rom-com sauce.
I spent the whole movie wishing for the Christopher Guest ensemble cast (“Waiting For Guffman”, “Best Of Show”, “A Mighty Wind”) to barge in and show everyone (besides Farina) how this mockery of a mockumentary SHOULD have been done. The role of Colette Mooney, for one, just begs to be whipped into shape by Parker Posey.
RIP Dennis Farina. Your last performance made this otherwise vapid film worth watching.
